What is an
all-glass tumbler?
Most tumblers aren't fully glass. The cup usually is, but the lid is typically plastic, or if it is glass, it still relies on a rubber or silicone gasket to seal it.
An all-glass tumbler means exactly what it sounds like: cup and lid, both glass, with nothing else in between.
Why glass?
Glass is non-porous and taste-neutral, so it never carries flavor from one drink into the next, and it won't leach anything into what you're drinking the way plastic can.
The all-glass lid
This is where most "all-glass" tumblers quietly cut a corner. While most lids aren't glass, the ones that are seal to the cup with a rubber gasket or O-ring tucked into a groove that's difficult to clean, and that hard-to-reach seam is where odor and flavor build up over time.
VITRI's lid is different. It's ground glass sealing directly against ground glass, a patented sip-through design with no gasket anywhere in the seal. The cup's rim and the lid's edge are precision-ground to meet each other so closely that the glass itself creates the seal, no rubber compressing to fill a gap, no separate part doing that job. An engineered opening lets you sip through the lid while it's on, and there's no hidden gasket collecting residue between uses.
It's a harder problem to engineer and manufacture than adding a rubber ring, which is why VITRI's glass-to-glass seal is patented, the first design of its kind.

What is an all-glass tumbler?
